As sensor networks have begun to emerge as an important new role for computing and communication in science, engineering, and many commercial sectors, a widespread and diverse research program in the area has come to life across the Berkeley campus.  Motivated by a mix of individual interests and the CITRIS agenda, several research efforts have launched into various aspects of the area.  This informal meeting provides a chance for this diverse community to learn what each other is thinking about and exploring.  It is intended to be the beginning of many new discussions.   Students, staff, and industrial collaborators are welcome.  We will enjoy a day of short faculty talks, questions, and discussion breaks.  We anticipate that broader activities will be highlighted in meetings to follow.
