I was born in Vellore, Tamil Nadu sometime in 1980, did schooling in Madras in PSSS School, Mylapore, undergraduation in IIT Madras in Computer Science and now a grad student in Berkeley. That's my life in one sentence.
Most of whatever I have achieved/done can be found here. Aside from that, I know something about Carnatic music. I have learnt violin under Smt Radha Narayanan and, of late, training also under Smt Suguna Purushothaman.
I have also had the fortune of running into people with a collection of as many tapes/spools as the drops of water in the Pacific, some of which I managed to digitize in the little time I had before catching SQ409. Just as any rasika, I have my own prejudices regarding my tastes, some rather extreme, which I (for obvious reasons) am not going to pour forth.
I am one of those YACFs (yet-another-cricket-fanatic). In the good ol' days in India, I used to watch almost every match that blessed the idiot-box. More awaited ones were test matches in Australia and England and one-dayers with Sachin on strike.
Thanks to the great cricket gumbal at IITM, I had great fun playing Sangam-KV cricket, even if it meant going to IIT for the third time in the day. Like every person who holds a cricket bat (including Harbhajan Singh), I do believe that I am a classy batsman, No. 3 mind you. Besides that, I am a good keeper. And back pain kept me from bowling, god save the batsmen.
