Message to BISC
BERKEKEY INITIATIVE IN SOFT COMPUTING
(BISC)
A new BISC special interest group on Fuzzy Logic and Internet
is being formed.
TO: BISC Group
FROM: L. A. Zadeh
In an earlier message to the BISC Group (31151208), I
suggested that
fuzzy logic community turn its attention to Internet-related
problems
and applications. In this connection, you may be
interested to know
that, at this juncture, almost all major search engines
employ - in
varying degrees -- fuzzy logic. Here are some numbers
that tell the
story.
Entry: fuzzy search engine:
Google: 138,000 results!
Excite: 9,227,840 results!
Entry: fuzzy databases:
Excite: 424,075 results!
Try using Google and Excite to set additional information.
I have asked
Dr. Masoud Nikravesh to initiate a BISC Special
Interest group on Fuzzy Logic and the Internet. Please
contact him at
nikravesh@EECS.berkeley.edu if are interested in joining
this SIG.
Warm regards to all,
Lotfi Zadeh
