Research interests

My research interests lie in the area of database systems. As an undergrad I was working in the Knowledge and Database systems Lab, under the supervision of professor Timos Sellis. My work concentrated on integration of semistructured data.
Currently I am a member of the Database Research Group in Berkeley and I am working under the supervision of Joe Hellerstein. I am also co-advised by professor Carlos Guestrin at CMU. My research interests focus on query optimization in sensor networks, efficient query routing, query approximation using probabilistic models, graph and approximation algorithms.

Personal

I am from Athens, Greece.

I like being creative, and I often try different things like sculpture, sewing, pottery. Out of everything, I've been most consistent with drawing with pencils and charcoal.
