Anh Pham
I’m Gia Vinh Anh Pham - a 4th year PhD student at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), UC Berkeley. My advisor is Professor Laurent El Ghaoui. I am also working as a consultant at Quantcast Corporation.
I was born and raised in Hai Phong, Vietnam; studied in Tran Phu Talented School and then High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education (specialized in mathematics). I was a member of the Vietnamese team participating in the 43rd International Mathematical Olympiad - IMO2002 (Glasgow, UK) where I won a Gold Medal.
I completed my Bachelor of Information Technology (Honors) degree at the University of Sydney, Australia in 2007, being awarded First Class Honors with University Medal. I worked part-time (in parallel with my studies) as Research Assistant at NICTA, then Research Student at Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) in a joint project with its industry partner - Insurance Australia Group Limited (IAG), I also took some development positions in Working Software, Australia and Highlight Solutions Ltd.
