Personal I was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India and did my first few years of school there. After that I moved to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India and my family has been there since. My father works in the Geological Survey of India, and does research and analysis in analytical chemistry (specially in elements like gold, silver etc). My mother has special interest in social welfare. She is an active member of Bharat Vikas Parishad, a social organization. My brother Ambuj, also completed his PhD from UC Berkeley in 2007. He is an assistant professor at Toyota Technological Institute, Chicago. He does research in machine learning, or "random stuff" (as he puts it!).
