Depositing money into Buyer's Club via PayPal

You can now deposit money into your Buyer's Club account via PayPal. This means you can now pay for your candy and soda with your credit card or checking account. You do need an existing PayPal account to use this feature, which you may signup for here.

NOTE: PayPal does deduct a charge for each transaction, so your Buyer's Club account will only be credited for the net amount of your deposit. (Currently, the charge is 30 cents plus 2.9% of the gross deposit).

Instructions

1. You must have a PayPal account.
2. Before doing anything else, read all of these instructions, especially step 7.
3. Click the PayPal icon below to begin the transaction.
4. On the first screen, verify you are making a deposit to "UC Berkeley Computer Science Graduate Student Association", a verified business member. You may also click on the user status to make sure "csgsa-lounge@cs.berkeley.edu" is the customer service contact.
5. Fill in the gross amount of your deposit, and your personal PayPal account name/password. Click Continue.
6. On the next screen, you may change your funding source (if you have multiple bank accounts or credit cards registered with PayPal) by clicking on "More Funding Options".
7. Important: Next, in Message to Seller, you must identify the name of your Buyer's Club account, or else we won't know who to credit. You do this by entering the following line in the message box:

   lounge="lounge_username"

   where lounge_username is your lounge account name. YOU MUST INCLUDE THE QUOTATION MARKS. If you fail to do this, the money will not be deposited to your account.

   As an optimization, you really only need to specify the lounge account name the first time you use a new PayPal account to deposit money. After that first transaction, the lounge scripts will remember which lounge account is associated with your PayPal account.

8. Click Pay to confirm the transaction.

9. After this, you will receive a confirmation email from the CSGSA lounge payment software addressed to your PayPal email account. The confirmation email should arrive within an hour for credit card payments, and within four days for bank transfers (Paypal doesn't notify us of the payment until it clears your bank). If you do not receive the email within this time period, please contact the lounge officers to fix the problem.
