The objectives of this project include: 1. Development of a complete Mars planetary model dataset with standard level-of-detail (LOD) control. 2. Extend and modify surface model algorithm for LOD, i.e., for multiresolution. 3. Compare the "Quad-tree decomposition" and "Delaunay triangulation". 4. Find a powerful surface model compressing technique, which is important for the huge amount of data set. 5. (optional) Wavelet based terrain compression with dynamic updates of terrain mesh (exciting new technique to avoid memory problems associated with large LOD scene graph databases.
