What's happening:

After some delay, I have released our codes for large-margin basd training of Gaussian mixture models and hidden Markov models. The codes implemen core portions of the novel parameter estimation techniques, as discussed in our ICASSP 2006, NIPS 2006, ICASSP 2007 and my Ph.D thesis.

Probabilistic Intensive Care Informatics, a multidisciplinary project developed by U. of California (Berkeley), U. of California (San Francisco) and Intel Corp., has launched its home page.

I am co-organizing a NIPS 2007Machine learning and Systems.

I joined Yahoo!Research end of July after spending a year with the machine learning groups led by Michael Jordan and Stuart Russell, with whom we are continuing collaborating.
