Introduction

The Balanced Exercise And Nutrition System (BEANS) is a health and exercise tracker which runs on a handheld Personal Digital Assistant (such as a Palm Pilot, Handspring Visor, or Casio Casiopiea, etc.). The purpose of utilizing a handheld device for this program is to take advantage of its portability and efficiency.  Users of the B.E.A.N.S. program will be able to enter data on the foods they have consumed and the exercises they have done—whenever and wherever.  This information will be used to determine the daily recommended nutrients that the user still needs along with the exercises that will help the user attain their fitness goals.  B.E.A.N.S. will provide people with an efficient system for tracking their nutrition and exercise habits in order to improve their health and the quality of their life.
