We combine user-centred design methods with rapid service prototyping and testing, aiming to study next-generation service concepts. The "holy grail" of this research is to understand user experience: how users *really* value a service. Biography Prof. Mantyla is a professor of Information Technology, now on leave directing the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology, a joint institute of two Helsinki universities. His research areas cover mobile service design, product design research in general, and particularly design information management. He leads a research group that works in these areas.
