Algorithms for Proteomics and Glycomics

Monday, January 30, 2006
4pm-5pm
The Wozniak Lounge, on the fourth floor of Soda Hall

I will give an overview of the algorithmic problems that arise in the
identification of proteins and glycans (carbohydrates) by mass
spectrometry. I'll show that algorithmic techniques that are already
well-known in other fields (for example, spectral graph partitioning)
can provide big improvements in identification rates.
