The interest in applying the lower cost of computing offered by standards based computing platforms to enterprise data processing environments has given rise to focussed efforts to solve the problems of clustering servers. Storage Networking--managed shared access of storage devices by multiple servers--has emerged as a key element in these solutions. Seagate and other leading storage and system manufacturers are working together to find practical and robust methods for sharing, managing and securing storage.
