Shmuel Shottan

Shmuel Shottan is serving as SR. Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technical Officer for Meridian Data, Inc., where he led the development of the Snap!Server and several other award winning networking products. Shmuel is responsible for setting technical direction, system and software development and engineering programs at Meridian Data.

Previously he was Chief Technical Officer of Parallan Computer. Parallan was among the first companies to develop high performance multiprocessing network super servers, marketed and sold by IBM.

Prior to joining Parallan, Shmuel was the director of the server group at AST Research, where he led the development of the award winning MANHATTAN Multiprocessor server. Previously he held senior engineering positions at ICL north America/ CCI division where he was a key contributor to the REGULUS RISC project and the CCI Power6/32 SuperMini.

Shmuel holds a BSEE degree from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology.

On the personal side, Shmuel is married and lives with his wife, 2 sons and daughter in Sunnyvale.

Away from his work, Shmuel enjoys car races, golf, soccer and studying world history and political science.
