Research Agenda for NOW

A short version of this talk was given at the ARPA PI
on July 12, 1995 in Florida. We argue that the NOW research
agenda is broad and long term, with new applications and
services (Web search enginre, serverless file systems, network RAM)
and long term (system management, heterogeneity, fault tolerant
applications, hot upgrade software and hardware).
