Berkeley Abstract: Current sensor network security research addresses problems based on perceived resource limitations and perceived differences with the fixed inftrastructure security context. I will argue that we currently have sufficiently advanced techniques to solve many real security concerns. Furthermore, researchers are ignoring commercial realities in search of problems that don't need to be solved and are avoiding the true open challenges in sensor network security. Bio: Naveen Sastry is a Ph.D. candidate in the Computer Science Division at the University of California at Berkeley. His research interests include security in electronic voting and sensor network systems.
