I am in the process of studying simple animation tools for a possible research project with Professor Landay. Our idea is that it may be possible to build tools that make the creation of very simple animations (say, on a whiteboard) MUCH easier than it is with current tools. This page details an informal study I did with Macromedia's Director 5.0 and Flash 2. I begin with a brief comparison of the tools, as well as our own concept of what a simpler tool might be, and follow it with some experiments.
