Disclaimer: These stories are not intended to be funny nor free of grammer errors d:)...

I grew up as a happy kid in Taipei. Homework was not high on my to-do list. In fact, one time my dad had to pay a visit to my teacher in elementary school because I got a second-to-last place on an exam. My dad did not say much after the parent-teacher conference except making some vague reference about me studying harder so that he would not have to go to these conferences anymore. It was not hard to move from second-to-last place to the middle of the pack...

Life was good then (it's still pretty good now). Everyday after school, my friends and I would pig-out in the nearby market: roasted spicy corn, pork-yakitori, shaved ice... After we were done eating, we would go rent comic books and stay in the store for hours until dinner time. After dinner, it would be watching cartoon on TV for another hour and pretty soon, it would be bed-time. Like I said, homework was not high on my to-do list d:).

One of my favortie game as a kid was playing Lego with my older brother and sister. We would not follow the blueprint that came with the box. Instead, we would re-create scenes from the cartoon we watched.

More to come...
