"Whirled White Web" -- Background
The design emerges from a many-year collaboration between Brent Collins
and Carlo Séquin.
It belongs to a large family of "Scherk-Collins Toroids" which were
originally conceived by Collins,
and subsequently generalized and captured in Séquin's "Sculpture
Generator I",
a computer program that can quickly show what a new combination
of topological and geometrical
parameters might look like.
