Biography

I am a PhD Candidate in Computer Science at University of California, Berkeley. I received a BS in Computer Science from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 2002, and a Masters in Computer Science from UC Berkeley in 2005.

I am working with professor Eric Brewer on the TIER (Technology and Infrastructure for Emerging Regions) project, aiming to develop appropriate information and communication technologies appropriate for the people of the developing world.

Research

I enjoy building and analyzing systems, and focus on wireless networks and energy-efficient networks. I am also interested in various economic and social aspects of computer networking in developing regions.
