I started animation as an undergrad and was the coordinator of the animation club at IIT Kanpur. We experimented with 3D animation, video superimposition, motion tracking etc. We entered the professional realm with the production of a music video. On this page are the clips of  some of me and my colleagues more successful experiments.
All the video clips are encoded with the free DivX codec at 256 kbps, and LAME MP3 audio at 64 kbps. If you place a copy of any of these files on your own web-page, please provide a link to this website.

Music Video for the Aryans
This is a full length music video (4 min) made for a reasonably popular Indian pop group by Ravishankar, Mustafa, Pathak and Maji. This video features real video shoots superimposed into an animated underwater environment.

Man in the mirror
This 1 min animation made by Ravishankar consists of the conversation of the protagonist with his own reflection, followed by a fight between him and the reflection. The concluding part of this video is yet to be made.

Light-Saber fight sequence
This is one of a series of experiments by Ravishankar and Pathak on emulating star wars special effects. This video involves super-imposition onto an animated background and motion-tracked super-imposition for the light-sabers.

  Electrocution by the Dark Side
Another piece from the star-wars effect series, this animation shows you the electrocution of Jedi Pathak by Dark Jedi Ravishankar. The lightning is generated using a time varying fractal.

  Unplugged
Free your mind ! Don't let those bullets get the better of you. What is gravity to the one who has been unplugged. This animation by Ravishankar featuring matrix effects is one of the earliest works of the club.

  Water Drop
This is an experiment in fluid effects by Ravishankar. It is a simulation of a water drop falling into a glass of water, creating ripples. The original full quality animation took 5 min to render each frame !

  The Pentium 5
This animation by Subhransu Maji introduces the Pentium 5 processor, made in IIT Kanpur, that was unfortunately so big that a multi-storey tower case was needed to house it. Fly-by the P5 in a helicopter !

  Football Kick in Bullet Time
This short animation made by Abhinav Pathak for the club's Animation Contest of  February 2003, features comic alien characters with excessively long heads playing football. It also contains a free-kick in bullet-time (a Matrix type special effect)
