Welcome! I am a third year computer science Ph.D. student at UC Berkeley. My advisor is Michael Jordan. I am interested in machine learning and a vast number of its applications. In particular, I have worked mostly with textual and visual data. Recently, I have gotten more involved with financial data. My research direction has evolved in two ways: 1) Multi-modal learning (learning with two or more different types of data) 2) Dynamics modeling (adding time models to existing learning frameworks)
Outside of academia, I am zealously excited about entrepreneurship and the high-tech industry. In my free time, I love to play tennis and volleyball. I also play the bass on the worship team at my church Harvest Berkeley.
